There are many different ways to make bread pudding

1. Banana Bread Pudding

Ingredients:

2 large ripe bananas, mashed

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

pinch of salt

1 egg, beaten

1 tablespoon butter, melted

1 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

6 slices of day-old bread, cubed

1/4 cup raisins (optional)

Directions:

In a bowl, combine the bananas, sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together the egg, butter, milk, and vanilla. Stir into the banana mixture until well blended. Fold in the bread cubes and raisins. Pour into a greased 8-in. square baking dish. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.

2. Hawaiian Bread Pudding

Ingredients:

1 can (8 ounces) crushed pineapple, undrained

1/4 cup sugar

1 teaspoon cornstarch

1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

6 slices of day-old bread, cubed

1/2 cup chopped macadamia nuts, toasted

1/4 cup raisins

1 egg, beaten

1 can (12 ounces) of evaporated milk

Directions:

In a small saucepan, combine pineapple and sugar; cook over low heat until sugar is dissolved. Combine cornstarch and ginger; add to the pan. Cook and stir until thickened. Remove from the heat; cool slightly. In a large bowl, combine bread cubes, nuts, raisins, and pineapple mixture. Pour into a greased 8-in. square baking dish. In another bowl, whisk together egg and milk; pour over bread mixture.

3. Chocolate Bread Pudding

Ingredients:

6 slices of day-old bread, cubed

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup chopped pecans

1/4 cup raisins

1 egg, beaten

1 can (12 ounces) of evaporated milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

In a large bowl, combine bread cubes, chocolate chips, pecans, and raisins. Pour into a greased 8-in. square baking dish. In another bowl, whisk together egg and milk; stir in vanilla. Pour over the bread mixture.

4. Cranberry-Orange Bread Pudding

Ingredients:

2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries

1/2 cup sugar

1 tablespoon cornstarch

6 slices of day-old bread, cubed

1/4 cup raisins

1 egg, beaten

1 can (12 ounces) of evaporated milk

1 teaspoon grated orange peel

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350°. In a small saucepan, heat cranberries, sugar, and cornstarch over low heat until sugar is dissolved and cranberries are softened; cool slightly. Pour into a greased 8-in. square baking dish. Add bread cubes, raisins, and egg; mix well. Pour in milk and orange peel; stir gently to moisten bread. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.

5. Pumpkin Bread Pudding

Ingredients:

1 can (15 ounces) solid-pack pumpkin

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 cup packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

6 slices of day-old bread, cubed

1/2 cup raisins

1 egg, beaten

1 can (12 ounces) of evaporated milk

Directions:

In a large bowl, combine the first six ingredients. Stir in bread cubes and raisins. Pour into a greased 8-in. square baking dish. In another bowl, whisk together egg and milk; pour over bread mixture.

6. Blueberry Bread Pudding

Ingredients:

2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries

1/4 cup sugar

1 tablespoon cornstarch

6 slices of day-old bread, cubed

1/4 cup raisins

1 egg, beaten

1 can (12 ounces) of evaporated milk

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350°. In a small saucepan, heat blueberries, sugar, and cornstarch over low heat until sugar is dissolved and blueberries are softened; cool slightly. Pour into a greased 8-in. square baking dish. Add bread cubes, raisins, and egg; mix well. Pour in milk; stir gently to moisten bread. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Serve with whipped cream if desired.
