Chocolate covered strawberries recipe for a perfect dessert

Chocolate covered strawberries are one of those fancy, bite – sized desserts that are easier and cheaper to make. Some important things should be kept in mind before preparing perfect chocolate covered strawberries.

  • Pick ripe and firm strawberries, without bruises.
  • Take the strawberries out of the fridge 15 – 20 minutes before dipping them.
  • Make sure strawberries should be, otherwise chocolate won’t set properly and will not get a perfect result.
  • Tempering the chocolate results in glossy chocolate covered strawberries.

Chocolate covered strawberries

Ingredients – 1 pound washed and dried strawberries with stems, 6 ounces chopped semisweet chocolate and 3 ounces chopped white chocolate.

Directions – Over medium heat, fill two medium saucepans halfway with water and bring to a simmer. Divide the white and semisweet chocolate between two heatproof dishes. Remove the pan from the heat and set the two bowls in the water to melt. Continuously stir until smooth. You can simply melt the chocolate in a microwave for one minute on half power. Remove the heat after melting the chocolate completely. Place a parchment paper or waxed paper on a sheet pan. Dip strawberries in the dark chocolate by holding the stem. Now, lift and twist the fruit to remove the excess chocolate. Put the strawberries on the sheet pan and drizzle some white chocolate. Set the strawberries aside atleast for 30 minutes for best results.

Strawberry Chocolate Truffles

Ingredients – Four milk chocolate candy bars (7 ounces each), ¼ cup strawberry spreadable fruit, 1 cup heavy whipping cream, 1 – ½ teaspoons vanilla extract and 1 – ¼ cup toasted, chopped almonds.

Directions – Put chocolate in a food processor, cover and process until chopped. Bring cream to a boil by heating in a saucepan. Now, pour this cream over the chocolate and process it. After that, stir in the spreadable fruit and vanilla extract. Cool this smooth mixture by stirring continuously and bring to room temperature. Refrigerate it until firm for about three hours. After setting, shape into balls and roll in almonds. 

Chocolate covered strawberry cobbler

 Ingredients – 4 cups strawberries, 1 cup cubed butter, 2 – ¼ cups sugar, divided, ¾ cup milk, 1 – ½ cups self rinsing flour, 1/3 cup baking cocoa, 2 cups boiling water, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and whipped cream.

Directions – Preheat oven to 360° and melt the butter in a heating pan      by placing in the oven. Now, in a large bowl, combine required quantity of flour, sugar, milk and vanilla extract until well blended. Mix cocoa and remaining sugar in a separate small bowl. Remove baking pan from the oven, pour the batter and sprinkle with strawberries and cocoa mixture. Over the top, pour some boiling water and bake for 35 – 40 minutes.
